A man has appeared in court after throwing a metal sign at an ambulance and chucking a traffic cone at a paramedic. James Ferguson, 29, committed the offences on July 25 following the death of his father, according to Teesside Live.
Simon Walker, defending, explained to Teesside Magistrates' Court that Ferguson suffers from autism, emotional personality disorder and a learning disability.
The 29-year-old initially spat on the ambulance at James Cook University Hospital, before picking up a metal sign and throwing it at the vehicle, causing damage.
Ian Martin, prosecuting, said the defendant approached the ambulance in Middlesbrough at 2.45pm.He said: "A paramedic approached him.
