Man dead after early morning 'disturbance' in Scots town as cops arrest suspect

Police in Lanark have arrested a 22-year-old after a 25-year-old man was found dead in "suspicious" circumstances on Saturday morning.

Cops swooped on Mousebank Road in the Lanarkshire town shortly before 2am on July 16 following reports of a disturbance. There, officers found a 25-year-old who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Locals reported seeing scene of crime officers in white overalls laying out yellow evidence markers in the street at around 5.30am.

Police Scotland has since confirmed that a 22-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and are continuing enquiries into the circumstances of the man's death.
