Man appears in court on murder rap after death of ‘beautiful’ young Scots mum

A man has appeared in court charged with murdering a ‘beautiful’ young Scots mum-of-two in West Lothian. Aimee Jane Cannon was discovered seriously injured at a property on Learmonth Terrace, West Calder, at around 6.35pm on Saturday.

The 26-year-old was tragically pronounced dead at the scene with a major police investigation launched into the circumstances.

Officers previously appealed for witnesses to submit any information they may have about the alleged killing on a special online portal.Investigators later announced that they had arrested and charged a 25-year-old man in connection with Aimee’s death.Michael Porchetta has now appeared at Livingston Sheriff Court during a private hearing.He faces one count of murder but made no plea and has been remanded in custody.The suspect, who is also from West Calder, is expected to reappear back in the dock within the next eight days.
