Man allegedly strangled cat before sending mother video of attack
dailyrecord.co.ukA pet owner has allegedly strangled his cat before sending a video of the act to his mother, a court heard on Monday. The accusation was brought to light as the 25-year-old was refused bail and remanded in custody.
The judge described the allegations against the defendant as “extremely serious and which might not have come to light but for the defendant sending the video to his mother”.
A police officer said the defendant, who is charged with animal cruelty and with sending a distressing electronic communication to his mother, was arrested last Saturday night after his mother had contacted the police.
The man accused appeared before Derry’s Magistrate’s Court according to Belfast Live.The police officer said: “He told his mother that he had strangled his cat with a cable and put it into a black bin.
