Man, 30, charged after Aldi supermarket worker attacked in car park

A man has been charged after an Aldi supermarket worker was attacked in a car park. Police were called to reports of an assault in the Aldi car park off Leech Street, in Stalybridge, on Sunday, April 19.

A man was arrested on suspicion of assault and theft. Matthew Denbigh, of Dalesfield Crescent, has been charged in connection with the incident.

He has been charged with shoplifting, section 47 assault and one count of section 39 assault. Denbigh appeared at Tameside Magistrates Court on Monday, April 20.
