A fault at Wigan North Western railway station is causing 'major disruption' - with trains being cancelled and delayed by up to 70 minutes.
National Rail Inquiries has said that the disruption, which was first reported just before 10am, is caused by a signalling problem.

Northern said in a Tweet: "Due to a fault with the signalling system at Wigan North Western all lines are disrupted." Avanti has requested that replacement road transport runs between Preston, Wigan North Western, Warrington Bank Quay and Crewe.
