Lorry fire in Fife closes busy road as police and fire crews race to scene

Fife closing the A92 in both directions this morning.Police and fire crews raced to the scene after the HGV went on fire at around 6am near Hill of Beath, just outside Dunfermline.The road has been closed in both directions between Crossgates and Cowdenbeath with firefighters tackle the blaze.Fire crews said they were called to a tanker on fire after both rear tires went on fire.The fire has now been extinguished and staff are cooling the rear axle of the vehicle.It is not believed there are any injuries as a result of the blaze.A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We received a call about a fire on a tanker.
