The two suspects charged in the brutal slaying of a Georgia high school football star Elijah DeWitt gunned down in a Dave & Buster’s parking lot last week are expected to make their first court appearance Wednesday morning following their extradition back from South Carolina.  The hearing for Kemare Bryan, 18, and Chandler Richardson, 19, both from Lawrenceville, Georgia, was scheduled to begin around 8 a.m. in Gwinnett County Magistrate Court – hours before mourners are expected to gather for the funeral of 18-year-old DeWitt at Jefferson High School at 6 p.m.  Bryan and Richardson are facing charges of felony murder, malice murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of certain felonies in connection with the murder of DeWitt – a standout wide receiver nicknamed "Eazy E" by NFL legend Cam Newton himself.  In an exclusive interview with Fox News Digital on Tuesday, DeWitt’s longtime girlfriend, Bailey Reidling detailed the aftermath of the harrowing shooting that unfolded during the couple’s date night with friends on Oct.

A military couple is picking up the pieces after all of their belongings were stolen overnight while staying in an Oregon hotel last week. Gustavo Burciaga and his wife Jennifer Luna were in the process of moving from Joint Base Lewis–McChord in Washington state to Albuquerque, N.M., when the burglary took place, Fox 10 Phoenix reported. An Indiana man accused of smuggling three migrants crashed his car during a high-speed chase in Uvalde County recently, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.  Richard Diaz, 21, allegedly told police that he was being paid $3,000 per person to smuggle the migrants from the border community of Eagle Pass to San Antonio.  He was charged with two counts of human smuggling causing serious bodily injury, Texas DPS spokesman Christopher Olivarez told Fox News Digital.  The driver sped off during an apparent traffic stop in Uvalde County, Texas.  (Texas Department of Public Safety) Dashcam footage shows the driver accelerate away from an apparent traffic stop at night. As the driver sped through what appears to be a residential area, his vehicle spun out of control and careened off the road into a pole.  One of the migrants suffered a severe head injury, according to Texas DPS.Two of the migrants were males from Mexico, while the third was a woman from Guatemala.  The driver's vehicle careened off the road and wrecked into a pole.  (Texas Department of Public Safety) Diaz told the responding officer after the wreck that he "panicked."  It's the latest incident of human smuggling to strike Uvalde, which like other communities near the U.S.-Mexico border, has been inundated with migrants in recent months.  One of the migrants suffered a severe head injury, according to Texas DPS.  (Texas Department of Public Safety) Last month, a 17-year-old girl who police say was "involved in human smuggling" crashed a vehicle in downtown Uvalde, leaving two people dead and 10 others injured.  "The nightmare of the border crisis, when will it end?" Multiple schools went into lockdown across counties in Florida on Tuesday morning as police responded to false calls of active shooters. Police dispatches in Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach and Orange counties received 911-calls on Tuesday morning reporting mass shootings and gunmen wearing body armor.

The White House said Tuesday that President Biden believes Saudi Arabia has effectively sided with Russia’s war aims in Ukraine following the Riyadh-led OPEC+ alliance’s announcement last week that it would cut oil production. "We believe by the decision that OPEC+ made last week, (Saudi Arabia is) certainly aligning themselves with Russia," White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said during a Tuesday briefing.

Former Alabama escapee Casey White pleaded not guilty Tuesday at his arraignment on escape and felony murder charges after his alleged accomplice in the jailbreak shot herself in the head rather than face arrest. Vicky White, a former Lauderdale County, Alabama, corrections official, walked Casey White out of jail on April 29, and the duo led investigators on an 11-day manhunt spanning multiple states and involving disguises and multiple cars. The two were not related but were allegedly involved in a jailhouse romance.  Deputies in Indiana recaptured Casey White after a car chase as the alleged lovers tried to evade capture.

The Biden administration’s plan to hand out up to $20,000 in individual student debt relief will rely on a brief self-certification form, according to a preview of the application webpage released to reporters on Tuesday.  The application, which White House officials said will go live later this month, requires applicants to list their name, social security number, date of birth, phone number and email. Borrowers are then asked to certify the information and submit the form.  "I certify under penalty of perjury under the laws of the United States of America that all of the information provided on this form is true and correct," the application will state.

Transport for London, a British government agency in charge of the city’s transportation systems, is being criticized for embracing "woke culture" after rolling out new guidelines for staff that ban words such as "post World War II" and "accident."  "This guide explains when and how to use abbreviations, punctuation, numbers, branding and terms related to equality and inclusion. It indicates which words should be favored or avoided, as well as when to use upper or lower case," the TfL website states.  The guide predominantly focuses on the use of abbreviations, punctuation and style guides for staffers, but also has a handful of other words with a disclaimer reading "do not use."   The massive list says "employees" should be used instead of "staff"; "Community, Safety, Enforcement and Policy" instead of "Transport Policing and Enforcement Directorate"; "collision" instead of "accident"; and "gay man" or "lesbian" instead of "homosexual."  Increased traffic is seen in King's Cross as a London Underground strike hits the capital, Aug.

The Supreme Court has denied an appeal made by mass murderer Dylan Roof, who was convicted of killing nine people in a shooting at a Black church in 2015. Roof had asked the court to decide how to handle disputes over mental illness-related evidence between capital defendants and their attorneys.

Authorities in Texas disrupted two human smuggling attempts near the U.S. and Mexican border. Texas Department of Public Safety Lieutenant Chris Olivarez tweeted on Sunday that a female driver from Mexico, who's an illegal immigrant, made an attempt to smuggle three people into the country.

A shooting in Florida left seven people shot with one dead outside a bar. The shooting happened outside the LIT Cigar & Martini Lounge in Tampa, Florida, just before 3 a.m. on Sunday when a large fight broke out, according to FOX 13.

Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu has appointed a new commander to the armed forces in Ukraine as Moscow looks to turn around its dwindling fortunes.  General of the Army Sergei Surovikin will take over as Commander of the Joint Group of Russian Forces in Ukraine effective immediately, drawing on experience from the second Chechen war and campaigns in Syria and Tajikistan, Russian outlet Rossiyskaya Gazeta reported.  Surovikin previously held command of the Southern group in June and Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Aerospace Forces in 2017. New York City Mayor Eric Adams on Friday said that the migrant "crisis" that the Big Apple is facing will cost the city at least $1 billion by the end of the fiscal year — as he declared a state of emergency and again appealed for federal aid and for other states to help. The suspect accused of killing his roommate at Purdue University claimed he had been "blackmailed" on Friday during his first court appearance.  In a video, speaking to reporters, 22-year-old Ji Min "Jimmy" Sha said he was "very sorry" when asked if he had a message for the family of the victim, 20-year-old Varun Manish Chheda.  Sha is facing a preliminary charge of murder.  According to court documents, he was granted a 72-hour continuance in his case inside the Tippecanoe County Jail’s magistrate court.  Fox 59 said that while court documents filed against Sha Friday give more insight into the death of Chheda, they provide little insight into his motive. Ji Min Sha, 22, was identified as the suspect by Purdue Police Chief Lesley Wiete during a press conference.
