The crash happened at junction 20, the Lymm Interchange, on the southbound carriageway of the motorway. Consequently, two lanes have been shut to deal with the incident, leaving motorists queueing for miles. That means major junctions between the M6/M56 and M6/M62 are snarled up. A tweet from Highways England’s north west team said: “M6 southbound at J20 / Lymm Services
