Dumbarton FC's supporters’ trust has labelled proposals for Colt teams in the lower leagues “opportunistic” and “little more than a bribe”.Plans were introduced by Rangers last week for reconstruction in Scottish football to a 14-14-18 model – with both the Ibrox side and Celtic entering youth teams in the bottom tier whilst committing to pay for 200 tickets per fixture.
However the Sonstrust has slammed the plans.In a statement they said: “In a consultation conducted in 2018, 89 percent of Trust members voted against the idea of having Colt teams play in our lower leagues, it is also the unanimous position of the Sonstrust board.“We would therefore firmly oppose any league reconstruction proposals which introduced Colt teams into the.
