Large emergency service response as man taken to hospital after crash in Salford

A man has been taken to hospital following a crash in Salford. The collision on Eccles New Road has prompted a large emergency response this evening (Friday).

The road has been closed in both directions at Langworthy tram stop. Greater Manchester Fire Service have confirmed they were called to the scene just after 8pm to a crash involving two vehicles. Pictures from the scene show a number of police vehicles, a Northwest ambulance and a number of crews from Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service stationed nearby.

No further details about the nature of the crash or the casualties injuries have been released at this stage. Greater Manchester Police have been approached for comment.
