A Lanarkshire dad is calling for better disabled access to shops after a recent experience saw his son’s wheelchair unable to enter a local barbers due to a step.Tommy Dawson had to carry his son Ethan, 10, into the shop with the help of the barber as his power chair was unable to get into the premises.He was then alarmed to find many other shops along Uddingston’s Main Street also had steps at their front doors, sparking a campaign to make the local community more inclusive for disabled people.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
