Knifeman tries to grab shopkeeper before running off with cash in terrifying robbery

Officers were called to reports of a robbery at a business on Bowness Road in Middleton on Thursday (13 May) afternoon. A man, who was armed with a knife, attempted to grab a worker before making off with money, police said.

Nobody was injured during the robbery, but the staff member was left shaken. A number of police vehicles could be seen outside the shop on Thursday afternoon, as officers carried out their investigations.
