Kindhearted Scots nurse appeals for knitted hearts to support grieving families say final goodbye

For many families, the coronavirus pandemic has meant being denied the ability to say a final goodbye. One Scottish health board has created a unique way of building a bridge between families who lose a loved one during lockdown.

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is calling on keen knitters to help create pairs of small hearts for families and those they have lost in a bid to help them feel connected to their relative when they cannot be physically present.

The small token can provide comfort for families faced with the heartbreaking reality of Covid-19.One heart is given to the family while the other is with the deceased.
