Rangers would be pulling off a "massive coup" if they could sign Sheffield United ace John Lundstram. The midfielder is coming into the last year of his contract with the Blades and it's unclear if he will sign an extension.

The 26-year-old Englishman has been a major player in the resurgence of the Premier League club and helped them to an unlikely ninth place finish last season.

The Athletic suggest Rangers are one of three clubs keeping a close eye on his situation, with Burnley and West Ham also interested in keeping him in the Premier League.

Steven Gerrard has made it clear he is looking to add another midfielder to his ranks and according to Phillips, Lundstram has all the attributes to be an outstanding signing.
