Kansas dad accused of killing 2 sons to face murder charges after extradition from Oklahoma

A Kansas father has been returned to his home state from Oklahoma to face capital murder charges in connection with the deaths of his two sons, the Leavenworth County Sheriff’s Office confirmed Thursday, according to a report.

The suspect, Donald Jackson, 40, was arrested Oct. 24 while driving through Oklahoma with his two daughters, 7 and 3, after a multi-state Amber Alert was issued for the girls.

He was about 500 miles away from his home in Leavenworth, Kan., near the Texas border. A family member had alerted authorities after one of the children failed to show up for a soccer game, the Kansas City Star reported.

Tropical Storm Eta floods South Florida, man in critical condition after driving into canal

Eta may threaten Florida after devastating Central America with deadly flooding
Heavy rains and flooding linger across Central America on Thursday as a weakened Tropical Depression Eta drifts over the region, but the storm system may eventually impact Florida by next week.  The National Hurricane Center (NHC) said the storm now has maximum sustained winds of 30 mph as it moves over Honduras, bringing downpours and "life-threatening flooding" across the region. Eta is expected to move back over open water in the Caribbean by Thursday night where it's forecast to once again start regaining strength as a tropical storm.  Eta is forecast to reach Cuba by Sunday, crossing over the island, before tracking quite close to Florida early next week.
