St Mirren fans’ favourite Jon Obika as he confirmed this season will be his last in Paisley. The powerful striker played a pivotal role in the Buddies staying in the Premiership last year, ending as top scorer and netting one of the most crucial goals in the club’s recent history, against the Jambos.
Following his final appearance against Dundee United on Sunday, the 30-year-old admitted his time with the Saints was coming to an end.
Having netted the last strike with Saints supporters inside the ground last March, he revealed he’ll always have a soft spot for St Mirren and only wishes he could have said goodbye to the fans in person in Paisley.Obika told Express Sport: “The Dundee United game was the farewell.“This is a place I love.
