Jimmy Kimmel has been announced as the host of the 72nd annual Emmy Awards, which are right now set to air on September 20 on ABC.

Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, it’s unclear if the show will take on a virtual format or not. “I don’t know where we will do this or how we will do this or even why we are doing this, but we are doing it and I am hosting it,” Jimmy said in a statement when he was announced as the host on Tuesday (June 16). Jimmy is no stranger to hosting the Television Academy’s big night.

He hosted the 64th and 68th Emmy Awards as well. We got a big Emmy Awards update this week, including which events have been moved to a virtual format.
