James Morrison opens up on song he wrote after 'tough time' with partner Gill

James Morrison opened up on his inspiration for the track My Love Goes On that he sings with Joss Stone, during an exclusive interview with OK!

He revealed how he wrote it with his partner Gill in mind, who sadly passed away last week aged just 45. ‌The 39 year old star said: "I was going though a bit of a rough time with my other half, she was having a rough time and I wanted help her, but she just wasn’t seeing me as someone who could.

It upset me because she wouldn’t let me in. "Sometimes you can say it better in a song. She’s quite jealous, so when I first met Joss Stone she was like, 'I don’t like her'.

But she changed her mind when she heard the song." Opening up further on what he had faced with Gill as a couple, James gushed over his partner and their journey together at the time. "We’ve been through everything together.
