QUIZ viewers are convinced Charles and Diane Ingram were innocent of cheating their way to Who Wants To Be A Millionaire glory after watching tonight's finale.
The former Army major and his wife were found guilty by a Crown Court jury in 2003 of procuring the execution of a valuable security by deception two years after winning one million pounds on the show.
They received an 18 month sentence suspended for two years and eventually had to pay £115,000 in costs. They have maintained their innocence ever since.
After watching the dramatisation of the infamous episode and the subsequent trial, viewers felt the pair were hard done by. One wrote on Twitter: "Well if that is how the case went in real life it's a travesty.
