Manchester's hospitality leaders have slammed the new billion pound aid package from the government, saying it's 'not good enough'.

The financial support is intended to help the punch drunk bar and restaurant business from the new onslaught of the omicron variant.

It works out at around £6,000 per venue - which one restaurant owner pointed out will only be enough to cover wages. Justin Crawford, founder of neighbourhood venues like Electrik in Chorlton and Volta in Didsbury, has called the move 'the bare minimum', while David Fox of pan-Asian chain Tampopo has said the government could be letting the industry 'fall at the final hurdle' with insufficient support.
