Irish EastEnders fans can breathe a sigh of relief as RTÉ schedule remains unchanged

The BBC had Irish EastEnders fans worried they would be without their soap fix after they announced that EastEnders would be moved from its regular weeknight slot on BBC One to BBC iPlayer from Monday morning at 6am.

The news, unsurprisingly, didn’t go over well with viewers from both sides of the pond and Twitter was filled with people theorising that this was BBC’s way of getting rid of EastEnders from its regular TV schedule.

With BBC reportedly pumping more money into new soaps, it seems illogical for the British broadcaster to get rid of one of its flagship shows in favour of shoving it online.
