While things never seemed less than harmonious on air, the story behind the scenes at This Morning was reportedly a very different one when Fern Britton was co-presenter to Phillip Schofield. The presenters who fronted the show together between 2002 and 2009 are believed to have had a furious fallout behind the scenes that Phillip has since called 'heartbreaking'.

While producers maintain that their presenters have always got along, the rift is believed to have prompted Fern's decision to leave her role at the ITV daytime show.

After years of silence, the pair finally managed to appear to patch things up this week when Fern, 64, appeared in a film to celebrate 59-year-old Phillip's 40 years in TV milestone.
