I MAY not have very much in common with Sixties model Twiggy. But getting teased for being flat-chested at school is something significant we shared.

While Twiggy — as Lesley Lawson was known in her heyday — also got teased about her skinny legs, I was ribbed about my bow legs.

Not the best look for me, I have to admit: Buck teeth, bee stings for breasts and pins that couldn’t stop a pig in a passage.

It was the bullying about my lack of development in the breast area that hurt the most. You know that crucial time of transformation when you’re supposed to be going from young girl into young woman?
