‘I love my kids but I’m excited to get back to work!’ Paula MacSweeney is missing Today FM

Today FM host Paula MacSweeney doesn’t have the easiest of work schedules. The mum-of-two, who welcomed a daughter called Pixie, last October, presents the Early Breakfast Show every week day which requires a 3.30am wake up call, but even so she’s adamant she’s excited to resume her normal, if unforgiving, schedule this summer.

Although Paula’s maternity leave was officially over in April, the broadcaster chose to take an extra 16 weeks off as Pixie still wasn’t sleeping through the night, and she also has a 2-year-old son Roddy. ‘I was thinking ‘I can’t start getting up at 3.30 in the morning five days a week without actually getting that settled first,’ she tells EVOKE. ‘I’m not as nervous about going back to work this time,’ she adds.
