The window of a home on Wroe Street also appeared to have been smashed through in the incident last night (Tuesday). Emergency services were called to the scene at around 10.45pm.

Dramatic pictures taken at the scene show firefighters putting out the flames from the car. One photo shows a window on the first floor of a property that appears to have been smashed through.

A number of police vehicles and fire engines were stationed at the scene. An investigation is ongoing, police said. Officers are treating the incident as arson.
