A total of 591 people received the jab across two days at Ashton Central Mosque. The drop-in clinic was organised to make the Covid vaccine more accessible for residents in groups where there has been a higher rate of hesitancy towards the jab.

NHS Tameside and Glossop clinical commissioning group (CCG) has hailed the event a huge success - with 80 per cent of people receiving the jab being from ethnic minority communities, while 80% were from the central Ashton-under-Lyne area.
