The UK Government has paid out more than £25.2billion in financial support to 2.9million self-employed individuals whose business has been affected by coronavirus through the Self-Employment Income Support Scheme (SEISS) grant.

The most recent figures from HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) show that a total of 9.1 million grants have been claimed by self-employed workers across the UK since the scheme launched in May last year.

The fifth and final grant closed for applications on September 30, however, HMRC has now issued new guidance for everyone who has received a payment and warns that some or all of it may need to be paid back - or you may face a penalty.
