Hay fever sufferers have been raving about a new pill that has helped to keep symptoms at bay this summer. The high strength tablet Fexofenadine Hydrochloride - which is being sold under the brand names Allevia and Treathay - was previously only available through prescription.
But now shoppers can simply pick it up over the counter at a cost of £4 per box. The pills are said to be much stronger than the traditional treatments such as Cetirizine Hydrochloride and Loratadine. But due to the quality of them, Leicestershire Live reports that supply is struggling to keep up with demand. One hay fever sufferer said: “I went to three different supermarkets trying to find it.
It was completely sold out in Asda Handsworth in Sheffield, and it was sold out at another two in Leeds. "I bought some online but even on Amazon Prime, there's about a week long delay on orders and it took a week to arrive on the 'next day' delivery service.
