Hamilton care home creates high street mural for taste of the outside world

Join thousands of others who have signed up for the Daily Record newsletter.A Hamilton care home used an art project to give residents a taste of the outside world.With lockdown still in place, staff at Avonbridge helped create a brightly-coloured mural of a high street.Residents were asked what they would like to feature on the walls, to create a feeling of walking along a busy row of shops.The mural put together by staff showcases a post office, hairdressers, café and grocery store as well as nature scenes like cherry blossom trees.And the art has sparked some lively discussion in the home; residents have been discussing which businesses along their local high street they’re most looking forward to visiting when restrictions allow.Moira.
