With winter in full swing and the festive period a thing of the past, it's time to get back outdoors and shed some of those extra pounds or to just reconnect with nature.
Thankfully, the outdoor experts at Blacks ’ have hand-picked their favourite winter hikes across the UK, and their social community have shared their top tips for heading outdoors this season.
Aonach Eagach ridge, which is located in the stunning Glencoe, is considered to be one of the most challenging but rewarding hikes in Scotland. At over 950m high, it's not for the faint-hearted.It boasts two Munro summits which are thrilling, giving experienced scramblers a grade 2/3 scramble.
A high fitness level and scrambling skill is required to enjoy this one.Speaking about his choice, experienced climber Liam Campbell said: “The days are short through the winter season so accounting for time is important and always having that head torch and spare batteries in your pack will come in handy!"The vistas across Glencoe are magnificent as the Aonach Eagach Ridge is probably one of the best viewpoints in the glen."Managing to catch a sunrise or sunset (or both!) in winter always makes your day that little bit more special.
