Bernie Sander

Bernard Sanders (born September 8, 1941) is an American politician who has served as the junior United States Senator from Vermont since 2007 and as U.S. Representative for the state's at-large congressional district from 1991 to 2007. He is the longest-serving independent in U.S. congressional history, although he has a close relationship with the Democratic Party, having caucused with House and Senate Democrats for most of his congressional career. Sanders unsuccessfully sought the Democratic Party nomination for president of the United States in 2016 and 2020.

Anthony Lorenzo Green: Ward 7 DC Council Candidate Our Revolution DC, the fledgling local grassroots political action group inspired by presidential candidate Bernie Sanders, has endorsed three candidates seeking seats on the D.C.

Council this cycle, including an openly gay candidate. Our Revolution DC, which was formed in October 2019, decided to endorse Ward 7 candidate Anthony Lorenzo Green in his bid against incumbent Councilmember Vincent Gray.

Green is one of only three openly gay candidates seeking office this cycle. Our Revolution DC also decided to endorse Jordan Grossman in the race for the open Council seat in Ward 2 formerly held by Councilmember Jack Evans, and Janeese Lewis George in the Ward 4 race against incumbent
