Pitlochry to mark a year since Scotland went into its first national lockdown. The colourful ‘yarn-bombing’ display of around 550 knitted blooms and insects of every shape and shade, appeared at the war memorial garden on Atholl Road.The bright design put up on the railings around the war memorial was a surprise gesture organised by the Pitlochry and Moulin COVID Community Support Group (PMCCSG), which has kept older people in touch and busy during the long periods of being housebound and potentially socially isolated.
In February, members of the community living around Pitlochry and supported by the group were encouraged to get crafting. At least 54 people began knitting, crocheting, looming or pompomming the work of art - which contained.
