The Sky Atlantic series follows the story of the Wallace clan and the aftermath of the murder its leader Finn (Colm Meany) who was the top gangster in London for 20 years.

Even before it launches on HBO's Cinemax later this year, Gareth Evan's bloody and violent crime drama Gangs of London has already scored record numbers in the U.K. The nine-part series — Evans' first foray into TV and produced by Pulse Films in association with Sister Pictures — landed a seven-day cumulative audience of 2.23 million on Sky Atlantic, part of Comcast's pay TV giant Sky, making it the channel's second-biggest original drama launch of all time behindFortitude.

GANGS of London could very well be coming back for a second season, according to the drama's team. The critically acclaimed Sky Atlantic series has captivated audiences with its nine episodes of mystery, gang violence and family drama, with many viewers calling for more.

AS viewers flocked to complain about the graphic violence in Sky Atlantic's Gangs of London its star and director are defending it. Not longer after the acclaimed drama hit screens, people complaing about having nightmares and not being able to get through episodes of the drama which follows the aftermath of the death of major London crime boss, Finn Wallace.

VIEWERS have contacted Ofcom to complain about Sky Atlantic's Gangs of London, sicked by its blood soaked fight scenes and eye gouging antics. The series which is being dubbed the most violent British drama ever has gained thousands of fans but at the same time several viewers have headed to the communications regulator to raise their concerns.

THE very grisly fight scenes in "the most violent show in British TV history" took hours of meticulous planning and preparation. Gangs of London set social media on fire as viewers clamoured to share their awe and in many cases, horror at the gory fights between gangsters.

Gangs of London is the latest series set to become everyone's new binge watch.

GANGS of London left viewers horrified as they watched a character get burned alive and beaten to a pulp just minutes into the premiere. The first episode of the nine-part thriller aired on Sky Atlantic last night and it has already been compared to BBC crime drama Peaky Blinders.
