GANGS of London left viewers horrified as they watched a character get burned alive and beaten to a pulp just minutes into the premiere.

The first episode of the nine-part thriller aired on Sky Atlantic last night and it has already been compared to BBC crime drama Peaky Blinders.

The series began by introducing the biggest crime family in London, the Wallaces. For two decades, Finn Wallace (Colm Meaney) was the most powerful criminal in the capital, but was savagely killed and now his son Sean (Joe Cole) must now take over and find out who murdered his father.
