There has been an update on Friends star Matthew Perry's cause of death update after autopsy toxicology tests came back. Initial toxicology tests did not show any fentanyl or meth in Matthew's system at the time of death.The full test will reveal if the former Friends star had harmful amounts of prescription drugs in his system at the time of his death.
Matthew Perry 'was sober and active in AA program' in the lead up to his tragic passing, aged 54.The iconic Chandler Bing actor tragically passed away on Saturday due to an apparent drowning in a hot tub, leaving his celebrity pals and fans across the world devastated.
It is not confirmed whether Matthew had any drugs in his system at the time of passing, and an autopsy by the Los Angeles County Coroner is set to be conducted today (October 29).The results of this autopsy may not be known for months.
Matthew openly shared his battle with addiction, as detailed in his honest memoir released last year. He became addicted to the painkiller Vicodin after a 1997 jet skiing accident.
