France travel ban could be lifted 'very soon' in alert for UK travellers

Travellers from the UK were banned from France almost four weeks ago on December 18 due to surging Omicron cases. Brits are only allowed to enter France for 'compelling reasons' that do not include holidays or business travel.Since then, skiers, holidaymakers and business travellers have been stopped by France's strict travel rules.The tweet followed movements by the tourism industry preparing for the borders to reopen.Ski Line, a UK travel firm, sent an optimistic email saying: "We are expecting the French government to make an announcement this Wednesday to confirm that British vaccinated skiers can enter France from this Saturday 15 January."France reported a new daily record of 368,149 new cases of Covid yesterday.Travellers in France currently have to self-isolate for 48 hours.
