First picture of machete attack victim as gangster targeted in bloody assault

The victim of a violent machete attack in Uddingston has been named as gangster Tommy Todd. Convicted drug dealer Tommy was targeted on Main Street by two thugs wearing balaclavas and high-vis who launched the bloodied attack at around 2pm on Thursday March 3.

The hoods fled the scene in a dark grey/blue Volvo.Todd, 43, sustained serious head injuries and was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment.Horrific footage from the scene shows a blood-stained Tommy being taken into an ambulance on a stretcher following the attack.In the clip an ambulance is parked on the street with its doors open and ramp laid out.Shocked onlookers watch as numerous police vehicles line the street as officers guard the scene.Blood can be seen pouring from the left-hand side of Tommy's neck down towards his chest as he is treated by paramedics.Cops have launched a manhunt to find the two attackers as detectives are treating the incident as a targeted attack.Both suspects are described as being between 20 and 30-years-old and were wearing balaclavas, black trousers, black long sleeved tops, black footwear and a sleeveless high-vis vest.The first man was between 5ft 8in and 5ft 10in tall and of slim to medium build.The second man was between 5ft 7in and 5ft 8in and also of a slim to medium build.Todd was arrested in April 2011 after cocaine and firearms were found in a pub in Glasgow.Detective Inspector Susie Cairns, from Cambuslang CID, said: "This appears to have been a targeted attack and we do not believe there was any risk to the wider public."It took place in premises on a busy road, with numerous members of the public present, so we are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward."We’re also keen
