Fireboy DML jumps on new Sickick remix of Madonna’s “Frozen”
thefader.comAfter Canadian producer Sickick's rework of Madonna's 1998 hit "Frozen" exploded on Tik Tok last year, Madonna cosigned his version and gave it an official release in December.
Now, Nigerian singer Fireboy DML has joined the duo for a second remix of the song. The new track finds Fireboy floating naturally above Sickick's now-iconic chopping of Madonna's original vocal.
It comes five days after Madonna uploaded a video to Instagram in which clips of her dancing alternate with grizzly images of violence in Ukraine, as well as a GIF of Hitler juxtaposed with a shot of Putin.
While some have called the post problematic, it apparently earned her a follow from Ukrainian president Vlodymyr Zelensky. Listen to "Frozen (Fireboy DML Remix)" and watch Fireboy's brand new NPR Tiny Desk concert below..
