Elon Musk‘s fortune continues to elevate. The 49-year-old Tesla CEO is now the world’s second-richest person, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index as of Tuesday (November 24). PHOTOS: Check out the latest pics of Elon Musk Elon successfully moved past Bill Gates to the second spot.

Amazon founder Jeff Bezos remains in the top spot. According to Bloomberg, Elon added an additional $100 billion to his net worth in 2020, largely due to Tesla stock.

He came under fire for his tweet in the summer about pronouns, causing partner Grimes to call him out. He also has an opinion about how to help the world amid the pandemic regarding stimulus packages, which caused controversy.
