Electric Picnic festival organisers have postponed 2021's edition by three weeks to provide a greater chance for the event to go ahead.

Taking to social media, festival management confirmed that Electric Picnic's intended slot of September 3 - 5 has been pushed back to September 24 - 26 in order for more of the country to become fully vaccinated. "Given the great progress that the HSE is making on the Vaccine Rollout so far," the statement reads, "and the recently announced target of having at least 70% of the population fully vaccinated, by the end of July, we are still confident that the festival can take place this year.
