Eight of Greater Manchester's ten boroughs continue to see rise in Coronavirus infections

Coronavirus infection rates are continuing to rise in eight boroughs of Greater Manchester, the latest data has revealed. Trafford continues to have the highest coronavirus infection rate, at 664.2 cases per 100,000 people in the week ending December 10.

The lowest infection rate is in Bolton, where the rate is 339.3 cases per 100,000 people, according to the latest data from the UK Health Security Agency.

Weekly rates have fallen in the other two boroughs. In Greater Manchester as a whole, the infection rate is now 453.4 cases per 100,000 population.

The infection rate in the region is lower than the national average, which is 525.4 cases per 100,000 people. A total of 12,857 people tested positive for coronavirus across Greater Manchester
