EASTENDERS star Gary Webster's wife Wendy was rushed to hospital amid her coronavirus battle, and he has thanked the NHS for "saving her life".

The 57-year-old actor took to his Twitter page to update fans on his family's tough time after losing his mum to the deadly virus last month.

Thankfully, Wendy, who has been married to Gary since 2000, is now back at home amid her health battle, but she is still "poorly".

Gary wrote: "Thanks to all 4 support over last weeks. Losing my Mum to Covid-19 & then my wife @turnerwebster being admitted to hospital with Covid-19 pneumonia has been very tough. "Thanks to all at @WestMidHospital 4 their life saving work.
