dailyrecord.co.uklink.Police noted Fairbairn went through three sets of red lights during the pursuit.Defence agent Nicky Matteo said his client was “in a low place” because of a family situation and took the car out after he had been drinking.He had completed his previous ban, but had forgotten that he was supposed to resit his test before driving again.Fairbairn has two previous convictions for dangerous driving and three for driving while disqualified, but Mr Matteo urged Sheriff Liam Murphy not to jail him.He said his client has “a good work ethic”, is self-employed and has other people working for him.Sheriff Murphy told Fairbairn a prison sentence “was at the forefront of my mind”, but he was willing to impose a direct alternative.The sheriff warned.
