Dame Vera Lynn has passed away at the age of 103, her family has announced.The singer — dubbed The Forces' Sweetheart after she raised morale in World War II — died in the early hours of Thursday morning.
A statement released by her family says: "The family are deeply saddened to announce the passing of one of Britain's best-loved entertainers at the age of 103." They added that information on a memorial will be announced at a later date.The Queen referenced Vera's best known song, We'll Meet Again, during her address to the nation about the coronavirus crisis in April.
