Dad who was 'in the thick' of street brawl in which medical student was killed is jailed - he was caught on CCTV kicking another man

Rusholme in the early hours of Saturday, January 26.During the brawl, Emanuel Gabriel Simon, 33, suffered serious head injuries.He died in hospital 16 days later.Manchester Crown Court heard the fight broke out when a group of people Mr Simon was with was removed from the Dubai Cafe.Kareem, a 36-year-old Iraqi asylum seeker, wasn't involved in the attack which killed Mr Simon - an Eritrean national who moved to Manchester to study to become a doctor.CCTV shown in court showed Kareem kicking another man who had been knocked to the ground -and 'pushing and shoving' others during the fight on Wilmslow Road.Mark Monaghan, prosecuting, said the CCTV showed Kareem was 'in the thick' of the 'melee'.He said: "It is fair to say you cannot see.
