Perth and Kinross ’s seven day positivity rate currently sits at 550.8 per 100,000 in the week ending July 4 but that is actually a slight drop from July 3 after constant rises since June 17.

Figures from the week prior show that the region was recording a rate of infection at 332.3.The latest readings also show that the proportion of positive tests has gone up to 11.8 per cent - over three per cent higher than the previous week.It comes after a huge increase in cases across the region, with 837 recorded in the week up to July 4, a rise from 505 the previous week.

And two deaths were recorded in Perth and Kinross last week. But Nicola Sturgeon announced at a media briefing on Thursday there was initial evidence that the number of infections.
