A couple fear they will be made homeless before Christmas after receiving a notice that they must vacate their house of more than 16 years by December 1.

John and Cindy Readman, who live in the house with their youngest son, say that their landlord Pemberstone is planning to bulldoze the property on Wordsworth Drive in Oulton - leaving the family "with nowhere to go".

They are one of many social rent households on the estate who have been left stressing over their uncertain future. John, 60, told Leeds Live : "I don't think we can plan anything past the 1st of December.

We can't plan for Christmas, we can't have family around, I just don't know - we can't really say with any certainty what the future will hold. "The future looks like
