Parents are being warned about the safety of an advent calendar containing fidget toys which has been on sale in North Lanarkshire.

Trading Standards officers from North Lanarkshire Council are advising anyone who has bought the calendar not to give it to children and to return it the retailer immediately.Testing of the toys inside the advent calendar showed excessive amounts of bis (2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP), a chemical used during the manufacturing process to soften plastic.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
