Council slams Sir Rod Stewart's pothole repair stunt over 'safety risks'
dailyrecord.co.ukEssex County Council is 'discouraging' anybody thinking of conducting DIY roadworks after a video of Sir Rod Stewart fixing potholes near to his home went viral.
Sir Rod felt like he had no choice but to take matters into his own hands at the weekend, telling fans the road at his Essex property was so bad an ambulance had burst a tyre and his Ferrari was unable to drive through.
The Hoops-daft singer donned his Celtic FC tracksuit bottoms and high vis vest and got to work with a team of pals. Residents were also reportedly unable to drive through the road as a result of the damage, prompting Rod and his friends to leap into action.The 77-year-old singer also said that "nobody else could be bothered to do it [repair the road]" so he had decided to do it himself.
The video, shared to his social media accounts, has since gone viral. In the video, Sir Rod showed his followers how he was repairing the road after a number of vehicles, including an ambulance, struggled to get through due to the potholes.
